I am Shamal Carter, a father, a grandfather, a community advance and a concerned citizen. I believe in the power of the people, my focus is putting people of politics and progress over partisanship!
Since 2014, I have dedicated my career to serving Arkansas families through public health, behavioral health, and community advocacy. I began as a case manager for children in therapeutic foster care, helping vulnerable youth and families navigate complex challenges. I later worked with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, connecting them with essential services and resources to promote greater independence and quality of life. Since 2019, my work has focused on substance use prevention and tobacco misuse prevention, partnering with schools, community organizations, and local leaders to build healthier communities. I have also served on the boards of numerous nonprofit organizations addressing issues such as public health, education, youth development, economic opportunity, and community safety. These experiences have given me a firsthand understanding of the challenges facing Arkansas and prepared me to deliver practical, people-focused solutions as your State Representative.
